1. End of the road

Day 1.

End of the road

So this is my first attempt at an online blog, as Thomas Beecham once said "Try everything once...except folk dancing and incest". I'm currently living in Melbourne, Australia and have been doing so for the last 18 months. I'm originally from England and decided to do a bit of travelling to get out of the monotonous routine that life had thrown at me, and met a girl along the way. I have an Aussie girl who's funny, charming and beautiful.

I have been working for a large company for the last year and a bit, as well as completing some regional work in South Australia and stints of travel in-between. Unfortunately my time there has come to an end due to visa restrictions and I am now enjoying the freedom of unemployment, hence me having the spare time to write a blog. You meet some interesting characters within a call centre, and no more so than this particular one, but maybe I'll leave those stories for another day.

I have the pleasure of house sitting this week and looking after a Kelpie Cocker Spaniel, it's been fun so far. I'm slowly trying to convince my girl that she scares the dog with anything she says and does. I'm enjoying looking after a dog, it gives me someone to talk to when there's no one around without feeling mental, although i'm not really sure it understands me. Someone once told me dogs understand tone more than language, but I didn't really fancy testing that theory out, so instead I've taken to talking to the dog in an Australian accent to make sure it knows where it's at.

I think this will do for a first attempt, It's quite possible I'll be back to keep you informed on my progress with the dog, unemployment and the woman.

Stay classy.
